Marietta, Georgia, February 26, 2019 – The Georgia Association for Women in Higher Education and the American Council on Education Women’s Network will hold their Annual Conference this week – February 27 to March 1, 2019.

The Georgia Association for Women in Higher Education (GAWHE) is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to providing professional support for women educators, administrators and researchers in higher education in Georgia.

The American Council on Education (ACE) Women’s Network is a national system of networks within each state, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia with the goal of advancing and supporting women in higher education. Each state network is led by a state chair who works with institutional representatives and at least one presidential sponsor to develop programs that identify, develop, encourage, advance, link and support (IDEALS) women in higher education careers within that state.

Fostering connections with other women in the higher education community, the Annual Conference provides a venue to share higher education experiences that have been gained through complex self-discovery and hard-earned participation in the educational process.

Conference attendees will leave with new levels of understanding and see their own experiences through another’s lens, allowing them greater perspectives new avenues to provide professional support for women in higher education organizations through networking, professional development, advocacy and publications.

Dr. Cynthia Boyd, GAWHE President and Life University’s Vice President for Enrollment Management & Marketing says, “It is an honor to welcome attendees to the 2019 Georgia Association for Women in Higher Education Annual Conference and be part of an event that will provide content and experiences to assist in attendees’ personal and professional development. The conference will include a national focus, with federal legislative and ACE Women’s Network updates and we look forward to providing updates on local and state issues in higher education.”
