Looking for a high-level Master’s in Positive Psychology Program brought this mother-daughter duo to Life University (Life U). Maria Benzo told her mother Ivonne Begue de Benzo that she was planning to get a master’s in positive psychology, and Begue de Benzo thought it was a wonderful idea when her daughter Benzo suggested that she do the program with her. Begue de Benzo had planned to get this degree years before, but as it goes, life happened, and she had not completed this goal.

Native to Aurora, Colorado, Macy Cummins is no stranger to chiropractic care as her dad is a chiropractor and alumnus of Life Chiropractic College West (Life West)*. Cummins’ conviction to pursue a career in Chiropractic solidified in eighth grade after attending her cousin’s graduation from the D.C. program at Life West. “I just knew that this community and the philosophy of Chiropractic that comes out of the school is where I needed to be,” said Cummins.

Stephanie Fischer grew up in South Florida in a Hispanic household, living with her mother and her brother. She considers herself to be very family-oriented and keeps up with her family as much as she can. For her undergraduate degree, Fischer achieved a Bachelor of Science in Alternative Medicine from Everglades University in Boca Raton, Florida. Coincidentally, one of her favorite professors attended Life University (Life U) and “planted the seed” for Fischer over time that she should consider furthering her education at Life U as a chiropractic student.

The Sigafoose Family is synonymous with Life University (Life U). Dr. Selina Sigafoose-Jackson’s parents, Dr. Jim Sigafoose and Patsy Sigafoose, are both co-founders of Life U. Their daughter continued the family tradition, graduating from the College of Chiropractic program at Life U in September 1989. Sigafoose-Jackson was born and raised in York County, Pennsylvania and never expected that she would end up back there, but that is exactly where she and her husband Dr. Kevin Jackson have lived since moving from Florida some 31 years ago.

Dr. Véronica Andrea Garcia Chaparro graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Life University (Life U) in the 2018 Spring Quarter and graduated from the Life U Doctor of Chiropractic Program in the 2019 Winter Quarter. When she was not studying or in classes as a D.C. student, Dr. Chaparro planned more than 25 weddings a year as an event planner to pay her bills.
