Jake Hafermalz

Jake Hafermalz came to Life University on a bowling scholarship, and as team captain, he helped form a nationally recognized team. Hafermalz recently completed an internship for Stars and Strikes in accounting and moved to Rawley, North Carolina because he was offered a position at an up-and-coming location. He is finishing up his last three classes online to get his Bachelor’s in Business Administration in December.

LIFE UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR DR. MARLA THOMPSON HONORED WITH VULCAN TEACHING EXCELLENCE AWARD

Marietta, Georgia, July 18, 2019 – Life University’s (LIFE) Dr. Marla Thompson, Adjunct Professor of Business, was recently the recipient of the 2019 Vulcan Materials Company’s Teaching Excellence Award.

Established in 1991, the Vulcan Teaching Excellence Awards annually honor an outstanding professor on selected member campuses of the Georgia Independent College Association. The award recognizes an outstanding faculty member who demonstrates strong academic skills in the classroom and provides leadership and support in other areas of campus life.

Brian Muntanga

From early-in-the-morning rugby practice to afternoon business classes, each day Brian Muntanga divides his time between his two interests.

Muntanga, an undergraduate Business Administration major, also holds the position of hooker on Life University’s rugby team. He is one of the team’s forwards who, during scrums, plays in the front row to ‘hook’ the ball back with his foot.

Zach Landis

Zachary Landis says that he likes to be called “Zach” … and that speaks to the casual charm that shines through when talking with him. From Lawrenceville, Georgia, Landis is currently an undergraduate pursuing his bachelor’s degree in business administration while also playing on the basketball team here at LIFE, one which he helped lead to the NAIA Championship Game last season.

Martin Cortes

Call it serendipity, a lucky break, good fortune or what you may, but whatever name it goes by, Martin Cortes has proven its existence.

At Life University to obtain his bachelor’s degree in business administration, Cortes is originally from Santiago, Chile. A lifelong soccer player, he ended up in the U.S. to play for a professional soccer club, the Atlanta Silverbacks, and to increase his English skills.

Tendai Rioga

Born into the Karanga tribe in Masvingo, Zimbabwe, Tendai Rioga is an amazing rugby player on our very own Running Eagles rugby team. A self-proclaimed “big guy from a young age,” at the age of nine, he moved from Zimbabwe to Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and started his lifelong love of the game.
