Marietta, Georgia, January 30, 2019 – Life University Athletics has opened up nominations for its inaugural Hall of Fame class in order to formally recognize and pay tribute to outstanding former student-athletes, coaches and other individuals who have contributed to the tradition and success of the Life University Athletic Department.

β€œLife University has produced some accomplished student-athletes who have not only attained significant conference and national recognition during their time as a student-athlete, but who have also gone on to earn some impressive accomplishments post-graduation,” states Director of Athletics Jayme Pendergast. β€œIt is important for our current student-athletes to be engaged with our alumni who continually demonstrate in their daily lives core values learned in intercollegiate athletics. We believe that a Hall of Fame not only honors many deserving alumni, but also shows current student-athletes how their accomplishments today can lead to University recognition and engagement down the road.”

LIFE’s inaugural class will be announced in August and will be inducted in a fall ceremony (date and time TBA at a later date).

Membership to the Hall of Fame may include student-athletes, coaches or administrators who have been nominated and meet eligibility criteria. Teams that are exceptionally distinguished through outstanding achievement or significant accomplishment may also be considered. Alumni become eligible for nomination at any time beginning five years after graduating from Life University. Coaches and administrators who are not Life University alumni shall be eligible beginning five years after leaving the University. Coaches and administrators shall be eligible based on accomplishments or contributions to the program.

Nominations must be on the appropriate form, which can be found here and should be supported by accurate and specific information: Hall of Fame Nomination Form, including justification for induction. Self-nominations or unsigned/anonymous nominations will not be accepted.

Nominations should be submitted by July 1 to be considered for that year’s class of inductees. Voting will be done prior to August 1, so inductees can be notified and make plans to attend the ceremony. Nominators will also be invited to attend the ceremony.
