Marietta, Georgia, May 3, 2019 – For the seventh consecutive year, Life University’s (LIFE’s) Varsity Men’s Rugby team will play in the USA Rugby Men’s D1A National Championship. LIFE will face off with the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) in Santa Clara, California, hosted by Santa Clara University, on May 4, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. PST/9:00 p.m. EST for the championship game. LIFE enters the championship after another perfect regular season (7-0), followed by three playoff victories against No. 9 Penn State University (34-3), No. 5 Navy (40-25) and No. 6 Lindenwood (27-19). They averaged 43.1 points per contest, while allowing only 12.3 during the regular season. They are averaging 33.7 points per match, while allowing 15.7 during the postseason.

“We are looking forward to the opportunity to compete in the 2019 D1A National Championship,” says Men’s Rugby Head Coach Colton Cariaga. “Life University as a whole, our support staff and our loved ones continually afford us the opportunity to prepare and compete week in and week out. We are tremendously grateful for that and know that it comes with responsibility. This week is certainly no different, and we look forward to representing Life University with our best on the field and off.”
