Marietta, Georgia, October 17, 2019 – Life University is proud to announce the launch of the College of Online Education, giving undergraduate and graduate students from across the U.S. and around the world a unique, personalized educational experience that they can only get at LIFE.

“Our mission and vision to change the way the world thinks about health, performance and wellbeing is too expansive to contain to a single physical location,” Life University President Dr. Rob Scott said in a video message to prospective students. “We believe that much-needed world change starts with the individual, and the understanding that health is from the ‘inside out’ proposition: we are each the product of not just our experiences, but also our choices.”

“We’re a caring university. We strive for our faculty to be more accommodating,” says Dr. Richard Belcastro, Dean of Online Education. “What really makes us unique is how our faculty work with the students.”

Offered for the past two years, LIFE’s online courses have the same academic rigor and learning outcomes as on-campus classes. However, distance learners follow different paths to the University – and the new College allows LIFE to have an increased ability to recruit and retain top-tier students and faculty, no matter where they are geographically, educationally and personally.

“In your course, you may have an 18-year-old student who’s taking their first college class. Virtually sitting next to them, you have a 25-year-old student who transferred here,” Belcastro says. “And in the same class, you may have a 60-year-old person who’s never attended college – and who never thought they could attend college. Each of those has a different journey, and our faculty are cognizant of that and trained to help accommodate that student to help them achieve their goals.”

“At LIFE, you will discover the quality of your instruction is second-to-none,” University President Dr. Scott said. “You will be exposed to engaging content from faculty who will help you prepare for what comes next in your life and career. Even though you may attend LIFE Online from a great distance, our goal is to make you feel part of a LIFE community that is anything but distant.”

LIFE currently offers four undergraduate and graduate degree programs and one degree-seeking pathway through the College of Online Education, with plans to expand further in the years to come:
• Associate of Science in Health and Wellness
• Bachelor of Science in Biology
• Bachelor of Science in Psychology
• Pre-Doctor of Chiropractic Pathway
• Master of Science in Positive Psychology (General and Coaching Psychology tracks)

Online students participate in two orientations when they enroll, according to Belcastro. One session introduces them to the University and LIFE’s Mission and Values. The other helps them become familiar with the logistics of virtual classrooms and the resources available to distance learners. In addition, each student receives a phone call from their professors before Week 2 of each quarter in an effort to make personal connections.

Students come to LIFE’s 110-acre campus from all 50 United States and more than 25 countries. Undergraduates can pursue 15 undergraduate degrees, as well as a pre-chiropractic, degree-seeking pathway. Four graduate degrees are available, encompassing areas of sport health science, clinical nutrition, positive psychology and athletic training, in addition to LIFE’s Doctor of Chiropractic program.
