Marietta, Georgia, September 25, 2020Life University (LIFE) conferred 122 degrees upon two associate degree graduates, 43 bachelor’s degree graduates, 14 master’s degree graduates and 63 Doctor of Chiropractic graduates in a physically distanced ceremony held in the TIC Auditorium (main gym) of its Center for Athletics and Sport Health Science on Friday, September 25, 2020.

Commencement marks the culmination of years of study and preparation that have gone into Life University students obtaining their degrees. The presence of family and friends signifies the support, love and belief in these students that helped to make their graduation possible.

“We are thankful to be able to celebrate this in person because of my daughter’s hard work,” commented Juliet King, mother of Hannah King, a graduate from LIFE’s esteemed College of Chiropractic. “When she came to us and said she wanted to go to chiropractic school we were surprised, but she figured it out. She was industrious, made the financial plans and has really navigated this all on her own, and we are so impressed with the wonderful woman that she has grown into.”

Martin Cortes gave the valedictorian address. He is originally from Chile and received his Bachelor of Business Administration. Prior to coming to Life University, he was a professional soccer player where he participated in the Chilean Youth National Team. During his time at LIFE, he has served as the Vice President for the Campus Activities Board, Treasurer of the Multicultural Student Association, captain of the men’s soccer team and mentor for the STARS peer mentoring program.

“As we experienced Life University, we found ourselves in an institution and community that embodies quite different values compared to other colleges,” Cortes said. “As a result, we have become more aware of who we are to further develop our passion and skills, whether it involves our hands, our minds or even our own voice.”
