Marietta, Georgia – July 30, 2024 – Life University proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of alumna Alexandria “Spiff” Sedrick, whose heroics on the field today led Team USA to its first-ever medal in Women’s Rugby at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.

In a thrilling bronze-medal match against Australia, Sedrick, a former Life U Women’s Rugby standout, demonstrated her exceptional skill and determination. With Team USA trailing in the final moments of the match, Sedrick scored the game-tying try that brought the stadium to its feet. She then nailed the subsequent conversion kick to seal the victory, securing the bronze medal for Team USA and marking a historic milestone for the team.
“Spiff” Sedrick’s journey to this moment has been one of dedication and excellence. A Center on the Team USA Women’s Rugby 7s squad, Sedrick earned her B.S. in Biopsychology from Life University in 2020. Her time at Life U was marked by her outstanding athletic performance and her commitment to academic success.
