Shani Tyson

Shani Tyson is currently studying Business Administration at Life University. She was born and raised in California.

Tyson has always been interested in pursuing a degree in Business. “Even in high school I was part of a club called DECA, Distributive Education Clubs of America, for all four years, and I was the president my senior year.” She was also part of FBLA – the Future Business Leaders of America.

“I got recruited from the women’s wrestling team by Ashley [Sword] and Christian [Flavin]. I really enjoyed the community that Life University offers and the team that they were building, and I wanted to be a part of it.”

As a Resident Assistant at the Commons, a Work-Study student with Campus Recreation and Wellness and a part of the women’s wrestling team, being involved on campus is an important part of Tyson’s experience at Life U.

“I’m the social media assistant for Rec and Wellness, so I get to share posts and make fliers to let people know about the events that we are hosting.”

Her best advice for current and future students is to be involved.

“I know it’s easy as an athlete to just be focused on one thing – your sport – but the school has so much more to offer. They have amazing resources to help you figure out what you want to do after you graduate.”
