College is undoubtedly a serious endeavor that should be undertaken with the utmost care and attention. Yet it is also all too easy to get caught up in the academic pressure cooker of it all that students can often forget to enjoy the joyous moments of collegiate life along the way, get silly and let loose. That’s why Life University (Life U) Campus Recreation and Wellness recently staged its Spring Quarter Kickball Tournament on May 4, 2024, from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. at Lupo Family Field.

Teams were co-ed and consisted of six to eight players, with creative team names encouraged. There was a fair amount of enthusiastic athleticism on display, with many shining stars from Life U’s official athletic teams across many sports showing their stuff. Yet, the atmosphere of the kickball tournament boasted more of a childlike levity and enjoyment of sheer play than any official games might have, especially as people of all skill levels were invited to join in the fun.

Life U Campus Recreation and Wellness thanks everyone that participated and hopes to hold similar events in the future. For more information about recreational play, check out Life U’s Intramural Sports programs at the Life University My Rec Portal for full access to leagues, schedules, registration applications and team captain information.

League play occurs each quarter during Weeks 3-7 with championships held during Week 8. In addition to league play, Intramural Sports also offers special events, providing opportunities to get off campus and explore the local region though hiking, indoor rock climbing, golfing, team trivia, online gaming and community building initiatives.
