The National Board exams, as they are administered today, have 4 separate parts. Life University has an overall 2025 NBCE Pass rate of 86.5 percent, but our students particularly excel in the practical exam portion, Part IV, with a 93.3 percent pass rate. That exceeds the national average by over 7 percent.

For those relatively new to the chiropractic world, it can often feel like stumbling onto a far-off planet with well-meaning, health-focused aliens spouting off jargon that is natural to them but exotic and foreign to the rest of us. Don’t be afraid to ask if you come across a word or phrase that doesn’t make sense to you, as it is a chiropractor’s (or a chiropractic student’s) privilege to share about the benefits of chiropractic care in a way that is clear, concise and relevant for those with whom they interact.

Zelin Zhou has had an active year in chiropractic research. He participated in the 2024 Research Paper Symposium at Life University, received a scholarship as the winner of the 2024 National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) Annual Student Scholarship Essay Competition and recently presented at the 2025 Association of Chiropractic Colleges Research Agenda Conference (ACCRAC) held in New Orleans. Pretty much no one likes the idea of undergoing rigorous, nail-biting testing to prove just how well they are understanding complex concepts. However, that is a major reality of chiropractic education, a necessary one to help ensure new chiropractors will be prepared to treat patients effectively and safely. The first comprehensive test that chiropractic students take at Life U is usually the OSCE in 12th quarter, designed to prepare students for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) exams and primarily modeled after Part IV in style.
