Campus Rainwater Garden
Destinee Rivera’s goal is to create a rainwater garden on the Life University campus, creating a green infrastructure by the Ian Grassam Treehouse. She will have six types of plants, including three types of flowers, two different types of shrubs and grass. The natural beauty of this garden will add to the pretty landscape of our environmentally friendly campus, and it will serve an important purpose.
Butterfly Research Project
Jazmyn Hambrick, who recently graduated with a Human Ecology degree wants to let people know that butterflies are not only pretty, but they are also vital to our future. Restoring these lovely creatures back into the environment is not about cosmetics and beauty, but they serve an important purpose in sustaining our environment. Butterflies help us sustain our food supply, as well as other plants.

Simple Ways to Avoid Food Waste
So much of daily life is centered around food. Buying food at the grocery store, going out to eat, preparing food and sometimes throwing food away that has gone bad before it had a chance to be eaten. Food waste is a major problem that tends to sneak under the radar of our consciousness, but it has negative implications for not only our wallets, but also the environment.

Marietta, Georgia, April 8, 2021 – In advance of Earth Day on April 22, Life University (LIFE) is holding a series of community service events on its 110-acre campus to promote environmental stewardship and to demonstrate the University’s guiding principle, Lasting Purpose: “To live an inner-directed life, to give, to do, to love, to serve, out of your own abundance.”
