What made your first quarter at Life U memorable?

The excitement of having a positive vision for the future. Being around a culture of growth and support was a great experience.

What surprised you during your first quarter at Life U?

How resilient people are in pursuit of their truth. Classes were partially online when I started, but that didn’t even slow down the process for anyone.

You mentioned you are a member of the Life U Muslim Students Association. What is the importance of a group like this on campus?

Diversity is the first thing that comes to mind. But more importantly, it’s a platform where Muslims get to represent themselves, which isn’t always the case in some media sources. Also, inclusivity across cultures/beliefs is huge, I think. In the end, we’re all one kind – humankind.

What advice would you give to a new or prospective Life U student?

Try to get familiarized with the campus before classes but don’t stress about being lost. It happens to everyone. Parking will be a challenge; be ready to walk some ways to class in case there isn’t a spot close to your building.

Make connections and try to start a group chat with your cohort! It’s very useful since you’re all going through the same things simultaneously. Attend as many different clubs as possible, see what fits you best or at least become familiar with what’s out there. Make connections with the ones ahead of you in the journey and gain as much as they’re willing to give you.

My 1st Quarter is a campaign featuring students reflecting on their 1st quarter of studies at Life University and why it was so special and unique. All University students (undergraduates, graduates and D.C.) are encouraged to share their experiences in order to help those in future incoming classes get a real-life glimpse of what they can expect as they start a new chapter of their education journeys at LIFE. If you would like to be featured or have a suggestion, email Marketing@life.edu.
