Marietta, Georgia – May 23, 2025 – In honor of International Women Chiropractor’s Day coming up on June 5, Life University (Life U) invited a superstar cast of speakers to present at the annual Women in Chiropractic Assembly, three phenomenal female chiropractors and leaders: Dr. Kelly Peterson, Dr. Cassandra Jimenez and Dr. Chantaye Evans-Carhee. These women spoke on different aspects of living out Lasting Purpose as chiropractors. Dr. Leana Kart, a member of Life U’s Board of Trustees and a 1987 alumna of the College of Chiropractic, served as the enthusiastic emcee, sharing captivating facts about women of distinction in chiropractic history. It was held in the SHS Lower Gym on Thursday, May 22, at 11:00 a.m., with a significant number of chiropractic students in attendance.

Dr. Evans-Carhee was the first to speak. She and her husband Dr. Winston Carhee are both Life U D.C. alumni, with Dr. Winston graduating in 2003 and Dr. Chantaye graduating in 2007. They own and operate Pain 2 Wellness Center out of Atlanta and Fayetteville. Her parting words of wisdom for the audience in attendance were “Each one, teach one. Each one brings one. And each one helps one.”

Following Dr. Evans-Carhee was Dr. Jimenez, who is also a D.C. alumna (‘16) and current professor in the Chiropractic Science Department. Dr. Jimenez is a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist who has treated patients with complex neurological conditions in clinics located in Puerto Rico, Illinois and Georgia. Currently she serves as Lead Clinician at Georgia Chiropractic Neurology Center. She discussed how many of her patients come to her almost out of a sense of desperation, having tried handfuls of many other types of doctors with no one seeming to be able to provide any relief. Dr. Jimenez reminds these student doctors to take the time to truly listen to their patients, to not only take thorough health histories but also connect with them as people in order to make the most profound impact.

“That is my Lasting Purpose. That is the reason why I wake up every day, because there’s people out there that are waiting for me, for them to continue having a good quality of life, or just living life. It doesn’t matter if the case is super complex; it doesn’t matter if it’s super hard; it doesn’t matter that the answers are not in the books. You need to show up for that patient because they are counting on you. So, that is my why, and that is my purpose.”

Last but not least, Dr. Peterson took the podium in her stylish bright pink blazer. Dr. Peterson is an Upper Cervical Chiropractor at the Atlas Initiative in Woodstock, Georgia. Dr. Peterson graduated from Life U in 2022, so she can most clearly remember how it felt to be in a chiropractic student’s shoes. Yet, she reminded those in attendance that “uncertainty is a really powerful tool” to build upon and learn from, “to use it as feedback rather than a failure.” She also iterated that it is important to remember “you’re not too much, and you’re also enough.” In fact, it is that authenticity that can translate to better patient care and relating to patients.

Life University is thankful to have these esteemed women return to their alma mater and continue to contribute to Lasting Purpose on campus and beyond.
