Forever Continuing Education in Chiropractic and Beyond, with Kathy Stavovy- Bannister (podcast)

Continuing your chiropractic education is a never-ending endeavor and in fact is a requirement to maintain chiropractic licensure. Kathy Stavovy-Bannister as Director of Postgraduate Education at Life University (Life U) works tirelessly to help take the guess work out of needed annual CE hours and what is required in various states.

The special main event hosted by the Postgraduate Department each year is Life Vision Extravaganza weekend, being held in September 18-20, 2025. Not only is it a homing of sorts for the Life U community, but it allows chiropractors to complete many CE hours in one place. Learn more at life.edu

Don’t Sit on This: The Dangers of a Sedentary Lifestyle

Prolonged sitting, compounded with poor posture, cause significant harm over time to the neck, back, joints and other areas of the neuromusculoskeletal system. A sedentary lifestyle, left unchecked, is detrimental to overall physical and mental health. Not only does this negatively impact personal well-being, but the health problems that result from not moving throughout the day are the most common causes of missed workdays, higher healthcare costs and costs linked to disability.

Poignant Ways to Honor Veterans and Military Personnel on Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a somewhat misunderstood holiday in the U.S. zeitgeist, seen by many civilians as the kickoff of summer with a vaguely patriotic backdrop. Yet, Memorial Day is intended as a time of solemn reflection and gratitude for those who have served in our military, particularly those who gave their lives in service. It might take the form of a moment of silence or spending much of the day in reflection, but one should be sure to take the time to honor veterans and soldiers on this day.

Faces of Life U: Andrew McIntosh, Ph.D.

Andrew McIntosh, Ph.D., lays claim to his heritage from Coleraine, Ireland (and with the charming Irish brogue to prove it.) He grew up with three siblings, one brother and two sisters, engulfed in the small-town life that makes up the tight-knit Northern Ireland community. Like many energetic young people looking for an athletic outlet, McIntosh quickly found rugby as a means of escape, exercise and enjoyment. At 18, he flew the coop to the United Kingdom to earn his B.S. in Anatomy and Human Biology from the University of Liverpool.

Positive Business- Doing Good with Good Work

Life University’s (Life U) business programs are based on the concept of promoting positive business. Loosely, this is defined as working for or creating businesses that contribute to the public good, rather than simply generating income. What does that look like on a practical scale? How can you know if your business is a positive business?

Celebrating Chiropractic Associations: Why Chiropractors Should Join Them

Modern chiropractors owe much to the tireless work of chiropractic associations. In fact, without the efforts of chiropractic associations over the profession’s storied history, it is likely the profession would not have survived and thrived as it has. Historically, many chiropractic associations were formed out of a necessity to define chiropractic principles, defend chiropractors’ rights to practice and fight for advancement of the chiropractic profession.
