Founded in Marietta, Georgia in 1974, Life University is a health sciences institution most known for its chiropractic program, the largest single campus chiropractic program in the world. (B.A. Bible/Biology)* GOD, SCIENCE, AND GENESIS HOW WOULD something be fit for survival while it was supposedly evolving? Partially evolved limbs, tissues, organs, structures would render any species unfit for survival while supposedly waiting millions of years to become complete. For example, “if a leg of a reptile were to evolve (over supposedly millions of years) into a wing of a bird, it would become a bad leg long before it became a good wing” (Dr. Walt Brown, MIT scientist and creationist). Only limited evolution or micro-evolution (variations within a natural species such as varieties of dogs, cats, horses, cows, etc.) is genetically possible in nature but not macro-evolution (i.e. from sea sponge to human). The genes already exist in all species for micro-evolution to be possible but not for macro-evolution, and there’s no evidence that nature can engineer (via accidental changes or mutations of the genetic code) entirely new genes or new genetic code for macro-evolution to occur. I discuss in more depth and detail the subject of genetic mutations and other issues in my larger Internet article, NATURAL LIMITS OF EVOLUTION published in Medium dot com. What about natural selection? Natural selection doesn't produce biological traits or variations. It can only "select" from biological variations that are possible and which have survival value. The real issue is what biological variations are possible, not natural selection. Natural selection is simply another term for survival of the fittest. For example, if a change in skin color occurs that helps a species to adapt or survive in its environment then that adaptation or survival is called “natural selection” by scientists. All real evolution in nature is simply the expression, over time, of already existing genes or variations of already existing genes. For example, we have breeds of dogs today that we didn’t have a few hundred years ago. The genes for these breeds had always existed in the dog population but never had opportunity before to be expressed. Only limited evolution, variations of already existing genes and traits, is possible. People often ask how all the varieties of humans could have descended from Adam and Eve. But, in principle this is no different than asking how children with different color hair can come from the same parents who both have black hair. Just as some couples today carry the genes to produce children with different color hair, so too Adam and Eve, our first parents, carried the genes to produce all the varieties and "races" of people. You and I today may not possess the genes for producing various races, but Adam and Eve did possess such genes. Dog breeders know that you can get a pure breed from a mutt, but you can't get a mutt from a pure breed. A mutt carries genes to produce pure breeds and races. Adam and Eve, our first parents, were mutts! All of the similarities between various species are better explained because of a common Designer Who designed similar functions for similar purposes in all the various forms of life. A dog has to breathe the same air as humans so the Creator designed dogs with similar lungs as humans have. It doesn't mean that dogs and humans must be related because we share similarities. There are no fossils of partially evolved species (i.e. partially evolved fish, crabs, dinosaurs) to show evidence that all life went through a process of millions of years of evolution. All species in the fossil record are complete and fully formed because all species came into existence as complete and fully formed, which is only possible by special creation. Look around you. Do you see any partially evolved birds, worms, chipmunks? Even if macro-evolution takes millions of years we should still be able to see some evidence of it occurring today. Why aren't we seeing partially evolved creatures (species) all around us today as evidence for macro-evolution still occurring? Interestingly, what some (not all) evolutionists interpret as dinosaur feathers may have been nothing more than "artifacts of the fossilization process, or partly decayed skin fibers." There's strong evidence that other structures interpreted as feathers are woolly plumages and collagen fibers. A few evolutionists (not even most) interpret these structures as proto-feathers and have artists drawing dinosaurs with fancy feathers for magazines and newspapers! More recent evidence from preserved dinosaur skin has shown that there were no anchor holes in the skin to hold feathers. All the fossils that have been used to support human evolution have been found to be either hoaxes, non-human, or human, but not non-human and human (i.e. Neanderthal Man was discovered later to be fully human). Textbooks and museums still continue to display examples and illustrations supporting human evolution which most evolutionists have rejected and no longer support. Many diagrams of ape-man like creatures over the years were reconstructed according to evolutionary interpretations from disputable bones that have now been discredited even by many evolutionists but still being taught in school textbooks. There has never been unanimous agreement among evolutionary scientists on ANY fossil evidence that has been used to support human evolution over the many years, including LUCY. Also, so-called "Junk DNA" isn't junk. Although these "non-coding" segments of DNA don't code for proteins, they have recently been found to be vital in regulating gene expression (i.e. when, where, and how genes are expressed, so they're not "junk"). The various nucleic acid molecules that make up DNA are found in a sequence, just like the letters in a sentence. It's this sequence that makes DNA a code. There's no law in science that they have to be in a sequence. It’s this sequence that instructs the body to make tissues and organs. All this is powerful evidence of a supreme Designer. God was the first Genetic Engineer! God began with a perfect and harmonious creation, which became imperfect after the first man and woman sinned against God. Even all the animals were vegetarian (Genesis 1:30) in the beginning and did not struggle for survival nor kill and devour each other. Evolutionary theory does not begin with a perfect and harmonious creation as the Bible states. The Bible and evolutionary theory cannot both be true. Science cannot prove the existence of God, but the scientific evidence points to God. Where did God come from? Unlike the universe, God’s nature doesn’t require a beginning. We know from science that the universe requires a beginning because the universe could not have sustained itself eternally due to the law of entropy. Just Google search the title followed by my name or go to: creationismnow.blogspot[dot]com Although I am a conservative Christian (Reformed Baptist), I no longer believe that the Bible teaches or supports the traditional doctrine of hell with its teaching of eternal torment or suffering. The Bible does teach eternal punishment, but it's not eternal torment. The Scripture teaches that God’s wrath is not an end in itself but a means to an end. In my popular Internet article, TRADITIONAL DOCTRINE OF HELL EVOLVED FROM GREEK ROOTS, I explain how and why teaching of eternal torment entered early into Christianity and how Scripture passages have been misinterpreted and taken out of context to support that teaching. *The author, Babu G. “Say Aloha to Life U”

Why would anyone leave a paradise like Aiea, Hawaii? Sandy beaches, gorgeous sun and beautiful surf … what more could you want? These are probably questions that Brianna Funakoshi has had to field from new friends in her five eventful years as a Life University (Life U) student. To answer that, it requires taking a look back to Funakoshi’s past. As the youngest child and the only daughter of a former wrestler, wrestling coach and now Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) coach, the athletic spirit was in the blood and needed an outlet. For her, following in her dad’s footsteps was a point of pride. Funakoshi started wrestling as a high school freshman, and the first time she ever left the islands was for a wrestling event.
