Assistant Professor, Clinical Sciences

At Life University (Life U), we take immense pride in our dedicated faculty, and Dr. Eric Clark, Jr. is a shining example of the commitment and passion that defines our institution. Dr. Clark, an assistant professor in the Clinical Science Department, has been a valuable member of our academic community for the past three and a half years.

Dr. Clark’s teaching repertoire is diverse and extensive. He specializes in spinal X-ray positioning where he instructs students on the proper techniques for patient positioning, technical factor settings and essential safety measures, such as radiation exposure minimization and shielding.

In addition to his work in spinal X-ray positioning, Dr. Clark also teaches:

  • Integrated Diagnosis: A lab-based class focusing on diagnosing various visceral conditions. Students collaborate on cases to develop comprehensive diagnoses based on their learning and activities.
  • Visceral Clinic Skills: A lecture class dedicated to visceral diagnosis.
  • Orthopedic Diagnosis: Known for its rigor, this lab class challenges students with over 100 tests they must master.
  • Lifestyles for Health: Dr. Clark’s favorite class, this is where he equips students with strategies to manage stress and maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout their time at Life University and beyond.

Dr. Clark’s journey began at Payne College in Augusta, Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology Pre-Profession in 2006. He then attended Sherman College of Chiropractic, earning his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree.

Before joining Life U, Dr. Clark accumulated a wealth of teaching experience at various institutions, including Millamont College, Virginia College and South University in Savannah, Georgia. His expertise spans over several profession-based programs that he has taught, such as medical assisting, anesthesiologist assistanting and physical therapy assistant programs. Additionally, he owned and operated Clark Chiropractic and Wellness Care in Savannah, further enriching his practical experience.

Dr. Clark’s dedication to Life U is profound. He views the institution as the “Universal Studios” or “Disneyland” of chiropractic colleges, captivated by its beautiful architecture, abundant resources and the overall supportive environment for students and faculty alike.

Upon joining Life U, Dr. Clark decided to pause his practice to fully embrace his passion for teaching. His enthusiasm for student success is evident in his approach to building strong relationships from the first quarter, ensuring students know they have his support. He emphasizes the importance of understanding students’ needs, maintaining open communication and adapting his teaching methods to keep content fresh and engaging.

Dr. Clark hails from Savannah, Georgia, and treasures his close-knit family. He recently enjoyed a family reunion in Savannah, celebrating the positive influence his family has had on his life.

His advice to fellow faculty members is to recognize the humanity of their students, offering understanding and support, especially when students face personal challenges. He also advocates for regularly updating teaching methods to keep both faculty and students engaged and informed.

For students, Dr. Clark emphasizes the importance of managing stress and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. He encourages students to develop strategies to de-stress, unwind and unplug, ensuring they can tackle academic pressures without compromising their well-being.

“I want to let them (students) know that they are valued, and I want to show them that value because they are going to be our future chiropractors. I want them in great spirits, and I want them geared toward that,” shared Dr. Clark.

Dr. Eric Clark, Jr.’s dedication to his students and his passion for chiropractic education make him an invaluable asset to Life U. His commitment to teaching and student success embodies the values we hold dear at our institution.
