Alumni Relations Manager

At Life U, the connections between students, alumni and faculty create a thriving community built on shared values and a passion for Chiropractic and vitalistic wellness. Taylor Stevens, the Alumni Relations Manager in the Office of University Advancement, plays a crucial role in fostering these connections. In this edition of Faces of Life U, we sit down with Stevens to learn about her journey, work and passion for engaging alumni and students alike.

Stevens has been part of the Life University family since February 2022. Her path to Life U was shaped by her background in hospitality, tourism and business, which she studied in Colorado. While working in university advancement during college, she discovered a love for higher education. Returning to Georgia, she sought opportunities that aligned with her passion for community engagement and wellness. Through a connection with her chiropractor, Dr. Melissa LaMarche, Stevens found her way to Life U and hasn’t looked back.

In her role as Alumni Relations Manager, Stevens oversees various initiatives that connect alumni with students and the broader Life U community. From organizing fundraising events like the annual golf tournament to hosting networking opportunities such as Braves Night and the D.C. Networking Fair, she ensures that alumni stay engaged with the University. She also helps facilitate events like the Student Engagement Dinner where students interact with alumni and experienced professionals to gain insights into starting and managing a chiropractic practice.

“I see my job as an icebreaker,” Stevens explains. “I put people in environments where they can connect, learn and find ways to give back to Life University. Whether it’s through mentorship, networking or fundraising, our alumni play a vital role in supporting current students and the university’s mission.”

Beyond alumni initiatives, Stevens is deeply involved with student organizations, particularly Student LIFEforce, a leadership program that encourages students to take an active role in the Life U community. She attends weekly meetings, helps coordinate events and ensures students have opportunities to develop their professional skills and build valuable connections.

“Students are so much fun to work with,” she says. “I love seeing them grow, whether it’s through leadership development, networking or simply learning more about the profession. If I can help connect them with alumni who can mentor them, it’s incredibly rewarding.”

What sets Life U apart from other institutions? For Stevens, it’s the sense of community and interconnectedness among staff, faculty, students and alumni.

“Even though Life University is a relatively small institution, everyone makes an effort to get to know one another. It’s not just about working in your own department; there’s a real sense of camaraderie and collaboration across campus,” she shares. “I’ve worked in larger universities where you only know the people in your immediate circle, but at Life U, there’s an unspoken culture of connection and support.”

When asked what advice she would give to fellow staff members or newcomers to Life U, Stevens emphasizes the importance of student engagement.

“Regardless of your role, find ways to interact with students. Attend events, support clubs, go to a rugby game – get involved. At the end of the day, our students are the reason we’re all here. Understanding their experiences and challenges not only helps you do your job better but also makes your time at Life University more meaningful.”

Stevens is excited to continue strengthening alumni connections and fostering meaningful relationships between students and professionals in the field. Her passion for community-building, combined with Life U’s commitment to Lasting Purpose, creates an environment where alumni, students and faculty can grow together. Through her work, Stevens embodies the spirit of Life U – one of connection, support and a shared vision for a healthier, purpose-driven future.
